  • Description
The Gray Wolf used to be the world's most widely distributed mammal but has become extinct in much of Western Europe, in Mexico and much of the USA. The main reason for their extinction in these parts of the world is the interference of man. The fear of them killing livestock or attacking humans have made the Gray Wolf the target of bad publicity and was considered a nuisance. Many were killed during hunting trips. However due to recent protection of it's habitat and study of it's behavior the Wolf is no longer hated and maintains a stable population. The Gray Wolf is asocial predator, living and hunting in packs.
